8/25/25: Ever wonder how we chose the phrasing for telling time?
Lawson is studying the European explorers and the age of exploration. While quizzing him, I read an introductory paragraph in the chapter on "Competing for Colonies." It was an account of an attack by Spain on England from a British Lord. "Upon Friday at Plymouthe I received intelligence that there were a great number of ships off of the Lisarde, whereupon although the wind was very scant we left the harbor that night. On Saturday about 3 of the clock in the afternoon we saw the Spanish fleet." If you want to know who won that battle, then think about the religion that is the Church of England.
